Maybe it’s nesting… I don’t know. Maybe it’s simply the urge to try take back some sort of control or clear my head by clearing up my surroundings. Call it what you will, but I’ve had the drive to organize ORGANIZE ORGANIZE!
First came the kids’ room. It’s nowhere near perfect, but with some help from my mom… clothing was sorted and donated, broken toys trashed, and toys put where they belonged. I didn’t change much in toy storage (although I am still on the lookout for new ideas), but I did change up the hair accessory storage – which used to all be thrown into a clear plastic container in their armoire.
Those of you with a 4 year old and 2 year old would know why my previous storage system might pose a problem… (Think broken pieces and lost headbands EVERYWHERE!)
So, I grabbed a Quaker Oats container, slipped the headbands around that and then divided up their smaller hair accessories into baggies and put those inside and closed the lid. I put a few hair elastics around my hairbrush since when I put Lala’s hair up, I generally use the brush. Then, I put it all in MY bathroom to keep small hands out of it when they just feel like playing…or snacking…on something.
Along the way, I found some other great organizational tips for Kids’ Rooms that I thought you all would like… check ‘em out!
