Themes – 2012

by bosssanders on January 8, 2012 with 2 comments

I believe in prayer, more specifically, I believe in very specific prayer.

I also believe in goals and I believe that if you don’t write it down, it’s not a goal.

Last year, I kept noticing this recurrent theme in my prayers and life in general:  GRACE.  It became my prayer and my goal.  Much of my daily living became focused on learning and living this one word.

This year, my word is

PATIENCE.

Patience with God’s timing.

Patience with others.

With my husband.  Children.  Myself.

What is your theme for 2012?  If you were to sum up in one word what you are meant to work on for this year…what would it be?  Please leave your answer in the comments!!  I can’t wait to read them!

This is a tough one, but if I absolutely had to choose, I think I would choose “action.” For so long now, I’ve dreamed about things, fantasized about making goals, and wished for changes, but I’ve always let something keep me from action. Well, this year, I’m trying to act on a lot of the things I want to do, such as reading my Bible every day or eating healthier. Some goals are easier than others and some new habits will take time. As long as I’m trying, then I’m happy.

Rather than a word, I have a posture for each year. Last year it was standing up with my arms down near my side, palms open, looking up ~ heart totally exposed, vulnerable. This year it’s still standing up, but arms outstretched – like a cross and my feet are bouncing. :) Can’t wait to know what it means as the year unfolds.
