Preparations
Must Do’s –
- Unpack and hang all baby clothes
- Install 2nd Closet rod and organize closet shelves
- Pack birth bag
- Pack labor bag
- Put baby’s car seat in SUV
- Get new batteries for camera
Hope To-Do’s -
- Birth plan
- Stock up on diapers - a friend is letting me borrow her tiny cloth diapers, so yay!
- Purchase a toddler bed for L
- Buy mattress for said toddler bed
- Get L to sleep in toddler bed. I’m really really hoping that I can get L transitioned to her “big girl” bed before the baby comes. She’s shown a lot of interest in the twin bed in her room, so I’m hoping she’ll sleep on this new one when it comes (twin bed is too high)
- Work on potty training with L. I won’t rush it if she doesn’t want to, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed to have only one in diapers. We’ll see!
- Set up the girls’ room. I still need to organize the armoire, organize the book shelves, set up the toddler bed (once it arrives), vacuum, and dust.
- Stock freezer with at least 5 meals, 5 lunches, and 5 breakfasts
- Pack L’s bag for during and after the birth
- Paint kitchen trim and cabinets
- Buy a double stroller
- Buy or acquire a BFing pump
- Finish the top of the quilt. This might be overly ambitious, and isn’t top priority, but it’d be nice to not have it on my mind!
- Plan garden
- Till and Plant garden
- Organize the house in general
- Box L’s clothing that no longer fits and store in attic
- Go through L’s toys and weed out the toys she doesn’t really play with to be given away
- Hang LR photographs
- Hang frames to showcase L’s art in DR
- Assemble bookshelf/toy shelf in LR
- Buy and start seeds indoors for garden
- Organize a section of cabinets for A’s food-items
Welcome back!

What night is pizza dough entree night? I’m curious how you prepare pizza dough without pizza!

Funny haha
But for all you know, I could actually just prefer pizza dough? Hmm. Okay, maybe not. But I don’t want to limit myself to a certain sort of pizza by adding the toppings before hand. I mean, what if I make something boring like cheese and mushroom and am hungry for banana and cream cheese pizza (I totally just made it up and it sounds gross…but that’s not the point. WHAT IF?). So see?

Wow! You are making some serious progress here. That’s a great idea freezing meals ahead of time. Such a huge timesaver towards the end of pregnancy, and once the new baby arrives

I know! Yesterday, we actually vacuumed and shampooed the LR carpet and laundry AND assembled a shelf unit AND lots of other stuff. The living room is organized, so now just a few things in the DR – and then our room and Lorelei/Aurora’s room and we’re done with the organization part too! The quilt, though…is just me being hopeful lol.

Holy cow, I need to take some organizational lessons from you, woman.
I have a wicked recipe for a casserole that was made for me and frozen in batches when I was recovering from surgery. I highly suggest trying it, it’s awesome, hearty and fricken good. I’ll email it to you, Chicken and Biscuits, it’s good stuff.

Oh, that sounds yummy. I can’t wait to get that one in email!
