Oh. Crap.

That.  Right there.  Do you KNOW what that means?  It means I’m nesting already *rolls eyes*.

Not nesting in the good way, where I have sudden spurts of energy to do something about this mess of a house, either.  It’s the kind of nesting that involves sitting at my laptop, picking out furniture (that costs money, which we don’t have to spend) for our kitchen/dining room.

What’s that you ask?  Do we plan to have our newborn child sleep in the kitchen?  Well, if it works, sure…but actually, I was thinking more like she’d sleep in our bedroom for the first few months and then share a room with Lorelei.  And, Lorelei’s room has already been decorated.  Which does remind me…our room could definitely use a few coats of paint on doors and trimming, turning it from wood colored to white as we’d planned (Um, honey?).

Back to my fabulous kitchen…

I don’t want anything drastic, and we’ve already painted the majority of it.  It’s MOSTLY already decorated, all it needs is to have a couple of pieces of furniture switched out and maybe a small backsplash added behind the stove (which we took down to paint behind, but now it needs a new, different one.  Something not…plastic)  Unless…I paint a tiny mural and then put the plastic up?  Hmm…

Anyways…I’m dreaming of this table you see.  $180 bucks at Walmart.  Simple and, and…I NEED it.  That, and this right here. We can get rid of the antique table set, which is beautiful and really is antique…but, I really can’t have an antique dining set with a teething puppy, teething toddler, new baby, and clumsy husband can I?  No, no I cannot.  I’m thinking I need this for the good of my health…like, stress levels and blood pressure.  I need a table that’s nice but I don’t worry if keys are set less gently on the table because it’s not ancient and in need of preserving.  I really don’t want to have the ruining of an antique set that’s worth quite a bit (to someone else) bloodying my hands.  I can have my nice inexpensive and simple table, move the island to the side of the kitchen where the buffet is when not in use and use it to house kitchen stuff and some of my craft things.  Then, when we need extra tabletop, we move it out AND I can use it as a craft table!  Weee!

Oh, and of course the cabinets need to be painted white to match the trim, luckily there’s not a TON of cabinetry compared to super new fabulous kitchenized homes (so, please sweetie? **I can’t paint right now.  It’s the rules.)  Then, we can put the hardware on that we already bought most of back when we thought we’d HAVE to sell the house…and  *SIGH*

Crap.  I’m nesting.  (At only 5 months?  DUDE.)

I so want to re-do my kitchen. The wallpaper is hideous and EVERYTHING needs a coat of fresh paint. Does this mean I’m nesting too. Uh oh! (Good luck with the nesting and home decor)

You do NOT have to be pregnant to be nesting. And good luck with the online shopping. It could kill you. Well at least your wallet.

    I like that table.

I feel like I’m constantly mentally decorating. I would LOVE to re-do my kitchen as well. Why does it have to be the most expensive room in the house?!!?

But I do remember that nesting feeling. I swear the rugs had to be vacuumed about 9000 times.

Every time the Ikea catalog comes in the mail I do the exact same thing…I bookmark the pages and dream. I understand about the stress levels and the antique table. You’ll spend unnecessary time disciplining the pup..you need that table. Hope Santa brings it for you :)
