So, what did I do yesterday? (BESIDES create a huge to-do list for the rest of the year? And THEN organize my daughter’s closet…? )

Why, I planted a garden. All in one day. The whole day, actually.
And, now…I’m resting. In fact, today is a day with little chores (not that I can’t find any, I’m just not going to do them until tomorrow).
Last night, I had trouble picking up Baby L, so a bit of a rest is indeed in order!
What I planted:
Asparagus
Squash
Lettuce
Okra
Peas
Spinach
Potatoes
Tomatoes
Watermelon
Carrots
Broccoli
Habanero Pepper (one)
Bee Balm
Lavender
Oregano
Peppermint
Rosemary
St. John’s Wort
And, I even have a diagram of my garden, so I know what I planted…and their approximate where-abouts.
And today, what am I doing (as I rest)? Researching things that sting and bite. You see, as much as I love nature, I HATE ticks, spiders, bees, wasps, hornets, and the like. In fact, I’d be happy if they all fell over dead. Starting immediately. And, while I won’t run screaming from the room if a spider catches my glance, I will stomp its little head off. So, spideys beware…and stay out of my way.
And since I plan to garden and well…be outside, I thought it was time to really research these little critters and the different KINDS and what makes them tick….errr…bite or sting. Especially since I almost accidentally shoved my fingers in a spider’s mouth yesterday as I was planting veggie seeds.

And, apparently, they bite but are not poisonous (Jumping Spider). He still better stay away, or I shall kill him. Bite me…and die. Lick me…and die. Look at me funny…and die. Set foot in my house…and…die again! Got it, spider?
As for the bees and wasps? I’m not reading any more about them today. I’ve read all sorts of fun stories about them not being as docile as people say (NOT what I wanted to hear). It really makes it hard for me to relax in the pool or laying on the patio when I begin to hear buzzy noises. So, I moved my research over on how to kill those too.
And, yes. I know. They are all God’s creatures and blah blah blah. And, they are great for the environment and blah blah blah…but, dude, if I chased you around shooting you with a BB Gun, would you want to hold MY hand?
I'd love it if you stalked me (subscribe to my RSS feed). Thanks for visiting!

So… you hate bugs? Me too… can’t stand them. I’m just glad I have a cat that thinks they are delicious. Good kitty!
…
My kitties will FIND bugs…and then play with them. They never just finish them off though. If I put peanut butter on one, the little dog may eat it though…hmm

Dang- That’s some major work. Where DO you get all this energy? I know you’re young, but sheesh- becoming a mom ages you, right?
I’m with you on the bugs. Love the outdoors hate the creepy crawlies (and pollen of course)
…
Oh yes, pollen is on my hate list too. Lol. If only I could kill it too. Energy? Ha. It comes and goes. Some days (like yesterday…) I just rest. You know, rest in between laundry and chasing the baby…lol.

Eeeek! Spider! I just had one in my bedroom tonight, and i had hubby take it outside.
Sounds like you’re going to have quite a produce spread growing
You definitely deserve a break today!
…
You had hubby take it outside? Why didn’t you have him kill it dead? lol

Haha ONE habanero. I hope you can find it amongst the cornucopia of vegetable goodness that you managed to cram into a single garden.
…
Haha yes ONE habanero!! My grandmother also has a garden and she usually plants jalapeno peppers for Steven (his favorite)…but if not…those are pretty cheap. My mom picked up the one habanero pepper (along with the other already sprouts that you saw). I started with just seeds…but she was convinced nothing would grow. I have this legacy around here…and it’s not from having a green thumb. I’m working on it tho …

Wow! I’m impressed, girl! I can’t even get myself motivated enough to plant flowers.
And I’m totally with you on death to the spider. Hate ‘em!
…
I think I must’ve had a huge energy surge…because, now? I think the energy is gone…way gone. lol

You are WAY too motivated for me - that’s a ton of work in one day! How did you do it while keeping an eye on L?
…
I waited until she napped and then worked on the garden then. So, there was a lot of stopping it and starting back again. Then, I put her in her playpen in front of the back screened door (so I could hear/see her) and finished up while she played
