Reason I'm commenting--instead of getting Adobe Photoshop, you should SERIOUSLY check out Photoshop Elements (I believe it's available for Mac). It's $100 (vs $600+ for Photoshop CS3) and it's a great program! It can do 80%-90% of what you can do in CS3, and it's a LOT cheaper. G'luck...
