2008 and all that it brings…

Categorized Under: Me me me., The way I roll 4 Commented

Most of you who know me, know that my brain pretty much wakes up between 7 and 8 am and won’t shut off until somewhere between 10 pm and midnight. Occasionally, I can trick it into letting me have a nap or to shut down at 9 pm. But, that’s rarely. And, in between those times (while I’m awake), my brain spins so fast, it almost drives me nuts. I literally have about 40 note pads laying around the house. One in almost every room, actually - Or, at least a pen - because, if I can’t find paper, I WILL write on my hand. I have to, or I’ll forget all sorts of stuff. I come up with crazy ideas or maybe I’ll come up with an image in my head that HAS to be put on paper, or a few stanzas, or things I need to do or SHOULD do.

Anyways, a couple of days ago I had this totally random thought: I haven’t done ANYTHING on my 2008 Resolutions…and it’s already mid-April!!! That’s month 4 out of 12!! (And, of course I made a note.)

So, I want to look back and make some plans to get everything on that list checked off.

Here’s the list:

1. I want to catch up on my scrapbooking for Lorelei. In fact, I want to start attending Friday Night Crops on a regular basis.

X 2. I plan to write some great informative articles and have them published.

X 3. I want to open up an etsy shop —Eh…actually I’m changing this one. I’m going to open a shop at this website. So, stay tuned :)

4. I want to spend some time crafting items for said etsy shop! –I’ve been doing this…um sort of. I decided to keep everything so far, so I’m not checking this one off yet.)

5. I want to learn how to make pretty baked (and decorated) cakes. The buy-worthy kind. The $50 cake kind!

X 6. I want to learn to make some AWESOME HEALTHY meals…that taste great and even look great

7. I want to learn to ballroom dance.

X 8. I want to travel to another country (like Jamaica…teehee!)

X 9. I want to be stronger in my faith and lead others by example

10. I want to organize my ENTIRE house…even the attic. (Actually, this was one of my other random ones I added later. This originally said something else, but after much prayer, I have come to realize that the original thing no longer fits.)

11. I want to take more pictures, and learn more about my camera

12. I MUST have Adobe Photoshop for Macs. I HAVE to!

13. I WILL do everything on this list.

So, that’s my list. And, I’m pretty determined. If I don’t do EVERYTHING, I want to do most. But, I need to get going, here. So, I’ve decided that for now, the next thing I’m working on is ORGANIZATION 2008.

I figured I would post about it on here so that you could all hold be accountable…that, and I’ll be forced to establish some sort of routine and not just give up…as I’m going to post an update every Saturday (approximately).

So there it is…my new “thing”.

That, and oh yeh…change number 13. to plant a garden.

What an awesome idea- I need to keep notepads in every room. I have such a terrible memory, I have to write things down, but usually can’t find pen & paper quickly enough!

Can’t wait till you open your shop!

I’d love to learn to make beautiful cakes, too. I know someone who does & they are fantastic!

I’ll try to open the shop soon…and who do you know that makes cakes??

You are so good. This is a fabulous list. Looks like you’re already tackling the house organization. That’s a great idea about keeping a notepad in every room. I too am a list maker. My problem is that I always lost them :(

What if you stuck a small dry erase board in every room? Or tied the notebook down to something (or stuck it to something)…

Howdy–you stopped by my blog a few days ago, so I thought I’d return the favor. Reason I’m commenting–instead of getting Adobe Photoshop, you should SERIOUSLY check out Photoshop Elements (I believe it’s available for Mac). It’s $100 (vs $600+ for Photoshop CS3) and it’s a great program! It can do 80%-90% of what you can do in CS3, and it’s a LOT cheaper.

    G’luck…

Thanks and you are very right :) Another friend mentioned that as well! Maybe that’s what I’ll ask for for my birthday (in August, for anyone that wanted to know a*hem)…
